About Me

Welcome! I am so glad you are here and I hope that we can work together to create the change you want to see in your life and your relationships. I create an atmosphere of non-judgment, warmth, and safety, and believe that compassionate attention is necessary for growth. I believe change happens through the therapeutic relationship, as we collaborate to navigate difficult emotions, manage states of anxiety and depression, and recover from suffering and trauma. Exploring painful memories, limiting beliefs, and deeper aspects of the self can be very challenging, as it takes courage to look in places you’ve never looked before and bravery to share your experience with a counselor.

I have found that I have the most success working with individuals and couples who want to take an active role in their own healing, value an embodied, holistic approach, and are committed to growth and self-inquiry as part of the process.

I draw on several modalities to inform my offerings, primarily using attachment-based Emotionally Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy. I incorporate somatic modalities and practices into every session. I am trained in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy and Gottman.

I am originally from Atlanta, GA and have lived in many different cities including Panama City, Panama, New York City, and Charleston, SC. I received my Masters in Social Work from the University of Georgia and completed a certificate program in Marriage and Family Therapy. My pronouns are “she/her” and I identify as a white, heterosexual female. I am welcoming of however you identify and honor the intersectionality of identities and that identity can also be fluid. I am sensitive to the power and privilege that comes with different identities, like my being white, and to the oppression and systematic racism, homophobia, xenophobia, transphobia, sexism, classism, prejudice that exist in our country. I endeavor to make a safe space for these issues to be explored and for clients to be supported in the effects these issues have on them. I am always learning how to be a better ally.
